Backcountry Ski Trips
Backcountry ski trips with Crusade Outdoors take place in remote mountain environments where conditions can change quickly and outcomes are not guaranteed. Participants should expect variable snow conditions, changing weather, and travel through avalanche terrain that requires sound decision-making, teamwork, and adaptability throughout the day. While our guides are trained to assess hazards and manage risk, backcountry skiing carries inherent risks that cannot be eliminated.
These trips typically involve sustained uphill travel, variable descents, and long days on uneven terrain while carrying a pack. Participants should have a solid base of fitness, be comfortable skiing variable snow conditions, and be prepared to follow guide instructions at all times. Prior backcountry experience is helpful but not required for every trip; however, all participants will be screened to ensure the objective is appropriate for their ability, fitness, and experience level.
